Poem: The Scent of Roses by Claudette Dean

Dawn had painted the sky pink
And the scent of roses was unmistakable
As you gazed upon my face.

That gleam in your eye...
That smile upon your lips...
I knew they were familiar.

A fresh breeze caressed my hair
And sang sweetly in my ear...
Be Still and Know….

And then I understood...
The gleam in your eye was my own reflection,
The smile upon your lips the rising sun.

Now all around me, through me, in me,
I heard the breeze echoing your Name.
And then my voice rang out with joy "I Am"!
