Poem: Sometimes by Claudette Dean

Sometimes when the moon is full,
I hear the sea deep inside of me.
It murmurs of the ebb and flow
of life… of change, of moving on,
of footprints left upon the sands,
of here today and gone to soon.

Sometimes when the moon is full,
I feel the sea deep inside of me.
It swells my chest, it fills my heart,
then overflows all down my cheeks
in salty drops that leave a trail
of joy, of pain, of loss and gain.

Sometimes when the moon is full,
I know that she is a part of me.
Secrets shared on nights like these,
With those who are awake,
Are etched in light in the script of stars,
And spoken in the tongue of the sea.
