Poem: I'll Fly Away by Claudette Dean

I'll Fly Away
(A tribute to those who perished during Hurricane Dorian)

Above the unrelenting surge,
The violent whipping winds.

Above the battered, butchered homes,
The wretched cries of woe.

Above the God forsaken trees,
Like soldiers left to die.

Beyond the terror and the tears.
Hope lost, dreams torn apart.

Beyond it all, I'll fly away.
