Claudette Dean

From the minute we are born, layer upon layer of labels and identities begin to conceal and separate us from one another. Veil after veil, I removed all that I thought I was and all that I thought I had to be. Exposed and vulnerable, without labels or identities, I stood only as truth and in the silence of the heart I remembered I Am That I Am." — Claudette Dean

When I received the phone call four months ago from Claudette Dean with the offer to work with her to produce her new Performance Art Video for The National Art Gallery of The Bahamas NE6 Art Exhibition, a great wave of intrigue came over me because when it comes to Claudette, one never knows what new genre of creative inspiration will channel through her. We all know of her talents on canvas and her evolution to Mixed Media, but are you also aware of Claudette’s poetry writing? Similar to the ethereal quality of her paintings on canvas, so to is her poetry. However, she doesn’t stop there, her inspiration has taken her to Clay and Encaustics, spoken word and now to Performance Art. One can’t help but wonder what will come next…I will challenge her to songwriting; we may become the next mega dollar songwriting duo of the new age!
